The standalone application is the program exported from the livecode IDE to a specific platform. You may export from any platform to any platform:
To perform this, first go to File -> Standalone application Setting... and select which for OS you want, you may select all Operating Systems:
A green thick will appear near the OS icon, then click on File -> Save As standalone application...
